Men's Basketball falls to Elmhurst

The men's basketball team lost its second consecutive game by one point, falling 73-72 to Elmhurst College in the consolation game of the Pete Thorn Invitational at Wabash College.

Kalamazoo led 39-32 at halftime but was outscored 41-33 in the second half.

The Hornets shot 54 percent from the field, but only went to the free throw line 13 times compared to Elmhurst's 25 free throw opportunities.

Brad Phillips led all scorers with 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting. Dirk Rhinehart added 13 points while Steve Thwaites contributed nine assists. Phillips was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Kalamazoo travels next to the University of Chicago on Tuesday, December 14.
