KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost
93-59 to the University of Chicago on Saturday. Kalamazoo
trailed by just six at halftime (42-36), but Chicago scored
51 points in the second half while holding the Hornets to
just 23.
Chicago shot 57.1 percent from the field and made 17-of-31
three-pointers (54.8%). The Maroons also sank 12-of-13 free
throws. Kalamazoo shot 36.4 percent from the field and made
8-of-19 three-pointers. The Hornets were 11-of-16 at the line.
Rebounding was even at 32 apiece. Kalamazoo had 18 turnovers
to Chicago's 11.
Tyler Worst led Kalamazoo with 11 points. Nate Orozco added
10 points off the bench. Brad Brinkman finished with nine
points and four rebounds.
Brandon Woodhead led Chicago with 22 points while sinking
4-of-7 three's. Jesse Meyer added 18 points and was 5-of-8
from behind the arc.
Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday at the Elmhurst
College Tournament in Illinois.
