KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell
70-63 to Manchester College on Tuesday. Manchester led 34-30
at halftime and outscored the Hornets 36-33 in the second
half.
Kalamazoo shot 44 percent from the field while making 8-of-22
three-pointers (36.4%). Manchester shot 40.4 percent from
the field and made 12-of-28 three-pointers (42.9%). Manchester
connected on 16-of-19 free throws while Kalamazoo sank just
11-of-20. Kalamazoo held a 35-31 rebounding edge, but turned
the ball over five times more than Manchester (17-12).
Mat Kellogg led Kalamazoo with 18 points and five rebounds
on 7-of-8 shooting. Pat Clancy scored 12 points with six rebounds
and seven assists. Tyler Worst added eight points, nine rebounds
and four assists. Off the bench, Jon Matych and Adam Bezemek
scored nine and eight points, respectively.
Wes Gardner led Manchester with 23 points and eight rebounds
on 5-of-12 shooting (5-11 3FG, 8-9 FT). Jamaal Wade added
13 points for the Spartans (6-1).
Kalamazoo returns to action this Saturday when the Hornets
host Chicago at 5 p.m.
