2006-07 Kalamazoo College Men's Basketball

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team won the consolation game of the Smokey Ballinger Classic at Otterbein on Saturday, defeating Hiram College 89-81. Kalamazoo led 38-33 at halftime.

Kalamazoo shot 41.4 percent to Hiram's 37.7 percent. Kalamazoo sank 10-of-27 three-pointers while Hiram made 7-of-20. The Hornets were 21-of-26 at the free throw line while Hiram made 22-of-29. Hiram held a 47-45 rebounding edge.

Mat Kellogg and Tyler Worst led five Kalamazoo players in double figures with 16 points apiece. Kellogg pulled down seven rebounds and was 7-of-9 from the field. Pat Clancy scored 14 points with five rebounds and four assists. Jon Matych and Nate Orozco each scored 11 points off the bench.

Kalamazoo begins league play on Wednesday when the Hornets host Hope College at 7:30 p.m.
