KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost
its MIAA opener 87-55 to Hope College on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Hope led 34-22 at halftime and opened the second half with
a 17-2 run over the first five minutes.
Hope shot 50 percent from the field and made 12-of-23 three-pointers.
Kalamazoo shot 40.4 percent and made just 6-of-20 three-pointers.
Kalamazoo turned the ball over 24 times to Hope's 15, and
Hope held a 39-35 rebounding edge.
Pat Clancy led Kalamazoo with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
Nate Orozco and Mat Kellogg added 10 points apiece.
Steven Kratz led Hope with 14 points off the bench. Tim Partridge
added 13 and Stephen Cramer finished with 11 for the Flying
Dutchmen (9-2, 1-0).
Kalamazoo returns to action this Saturday at Adrian.
