HOLLAND - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team suffered
an 86-48 loss at Hope on Saturday. Hope, ranked ninth in the
latest D3hoops.com poll, jumped out to an early lead behind
a hot-shooting effort and led 58-27 at halftime.
Hope shot 50.9 percent from the field and made 10-of-19 three-pointers
(52.6%), including 8-of-14 in the first half. Kalamazoo was
held to 34.6 percent shooting and made just 6-20 three-pointers.
Hope outrebounded Kalamazoo 37-21.
Thomas Greer led the Hornets in scoring with nine points.
Derek Van Solkema led Hope with 16 points while making 4-of-5
three-pointers.
After three games on the road, Kalamazoo returns home for
its next two. The Hornets host Adrian on Wednesday and Alma
on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
