GRAND RAPIDS - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team
let a first-half lead get away as the Hornets fell 74-63 at
Calvin on Wednesday.
Kalamazoo led 33-26 at halftime after holding Calvin to just
29 percent shooting in the first half. Calvin's shooting heated
up to 51.9 percent in the second half as the Knights outscored
Kalamazoo 48-30 en route to their third-consecutive win.
Kalamazoo finished the game 20-of-27 at the free throw line
while Calvin made 25-of-33. Kalamazoo held a 38-34 rebounding
edge, but the Hornets had 18 turnovers to Calvin's 11.
Tyler Worst led the Hornets with 18 points. Thomas Greer
scored 13 points off the bench. Damon Krohn and Pat Clancy
each scored nine. Mat Kellogg fouled out with five points
and 10 rebounds on 1-of-4 shooting (3-6 FT).
Derek Griffin led Calvin with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday at Hope at 7:30 p.m.
