LAS VEGAS - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team lost 70-52 to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the opening game of the adidas D-3 Desert Shootout on Sunday, Dec. 21. Kalamazoo trailed 38-24 at halftime.
Kalamazoo shot 27.5 percent from the field while UW-Stevens Point shot 37.7 percent.
Tim Herman led the Hornets with a career-high 19 points.
Nick Bennett led the Pointers with 29 points. Jason Kalsow added 16 points. UW-Stevens Point is 8-0 and ranked second in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
Kalamazoo will face the loser of the SUNY-IT/UW-Oshkosh game on Monday at 6:30.
