
CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team defeated Olivet College 62-59 in a non-conference game on Saturday to finish third at the Wabash College Little-Giant Tip-off Tournament.
Tony Wichmann had career highs in points (21) and rebounds (8) in the win. Chris Elliott had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Konwinski scored 13 points and Jevon Caldwell-Gross finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Ronnie Pearson led Olivet with 15 points. De'Andre Pruitt added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Comets.
Kalamazoo shot 37.3 percent to Olivet's 39.7 percent, but Kalamazoo won the rebounding battle 45-37. Kalamazoo was 5-of-18 from three-point range while Olivet was just 1-of-12. The Hornets also meshed five more free throws (13-24) then the Comets (8-13).
Kalamazoo will play its home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 25 against Marygrove College at 8 p.m.
