
KALAMAZOO - Adrian College built a 30-24 halftime lead and held on to defeat Kalamazoo College 67-60 at the Anderson Athletic Center tonight.
Neither team shot particularly well as Adrian finished at 36.1 percent overall and 27.3 percent (6-22) from behind the arch. Kalamazoo shot 38.2 percent from the field and 29.4 percent (5-17) from three-point range. Adrian was 17-of-29 at the free throw line while Kalamazoo sank 13-of-21. Adrian held a 44-41 rebounding edge. Adrian scored 28 points off 18 Kalamazoo turnovers. Adrian had 12 turnovers.
Jevon Caldwell-Gross matched a career-high with 24 points to lead Kalamazoo (6-11, 1-4 MIAA). Chris Elliott added 13 points with eight rebounds. Tony Wichmann scored seven points with 11 rebounds while Tim Herman scored nine points with seven rebounds.
Billy Collins led Adrian with 20 points. Brian Schaefer scored 18 points with eight assists. Adam Novak scored 14 points with 11 rebounds. Mike Lewis scored four points with a game-high 16 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive end. Adrian is 9-7 (3-2 MIAA).
