
ADRIAN - Adrian's Dan Walter hit a 20-foot jump shot with .5 seconds left on the clock to lift Adrian to a 67-65 victory over Kalamazoo on Saturday. Adrian led 31-28 at halftime.
Kalamazoo shot 46.9 percent from the field while holding Adrian to 39.2 percent shooting. Kalamazoo was 5-of-18 from three-point range while Adrian sank 9-of-23 three-pointers. The Hornets were 14-of-19 at the free throw line. Adrian hit 18-of-28 free throws. Kalamazoo held a 38-24 rebounding advantage, but the Hornets committed 18 turnovers while Adrian had just seven turnovers.
Dirk Rhinehart led Kalamazoo with 16 points and seven rebounds. Erik Rhinehart added 14 points. Jevon Caldwell-Gross scored 12 points. Kevin Baird had a team-high nine rebounds.
Steve Brooks led Adrian with 24 points. Dan Walter scored 21 points with seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (5-9 / 1-3 MIAA).
Kalamazoo (11-3 / 1-2 MIAA) hosts Olivet on Wednesday and Albion next Saturday.
