ALMA - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team rolled to a 78-57 win at Alma College on Saturday. Kalamazoo led 39-21 at halftime.
Kalamazoo shot 54.2 percent from the field and 80.8 percent (21-26) at the free throw line. Alma shot only 36.7 percent from the field and 17.6 percent (3-17) from three-point range. Kalamazoo dominated the boards, 40-24. The Hornets committed 22 turnovers while Alma had only 13.
Nathan Burns led Kalamazoo with 16 points and five rebounds. Tony Wichmann added 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting. Dirk Rhinehart finished with 10 points. Nathan Troyer added eight points and five rebounds while Kevin Baird scored seven points with five rebounds. Mike King led the team with seven rebounds while scoring six points.
Joe Baysdell led Alma with 10 points and four rebounds.
Kalamazoo, now in sole possession of third place in the MIAA at 6-3, hosts fourth-place Albion College on Wednesday.
