WARSAW, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team rolled to an 89-66 win over Calumet College of St. Joseph in the consolation game of the Grace College Holiday Inn-vitational on Saturday. Kalamazoo led 44-26 at halftime.
Kalamazoo shot 49.2 percent from the field while holding Calumet to just 31.7 percent shooting. Rebounding was nearly even with Calumet holding a 41-40 edge, however Calumet turned the ball over 26 times while Kalamazoo had only 16 turnovers.
Dirk Rhinehart led all scorers with 23 points, including 11-of-11 at the free throw line to remain perfect on the season. Nathan Burns poured in 19 points and Scott Montmorency finished with 13 points. Rhinehart and Nate Troyer each had five rebounds.
Andre Hendrix led Calumet with 18 points. Keenan Browder scored 13 points and Andy Marks finished with 10 points.
Kalamazoo (6-3) returns to action on Monday at Hillsdale College.
