
SPRING ARBOR - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team defeated
U of M Dearborn 87-46 in the consolation game of the Spring Arbor Tournament
on Saturday. Kalamazoo led 46-22 at halftime.
Kalamazoo shot 56.0 percent from the field and hit 10-of-19 three point
attempts (52.6%) while holding U of M Dearborn to just 28.6 percent overall
and 21.1 percent (4-19) from behind the arch. Kalamazoo won the rebounding
battle, 39-28.
Scott Montmorency led four Hornets in double figures with 14 points and
six rebounds. Nathan Burns had 13, Shawn Kidd added 11, and Dirk Rhinehart
finished with 10 points.
Kalamazoo (5-1) is off until next Saturday when the Hornets travel to the
University of Chicago.
