ALBION - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team moved into sole possession of first place in the MIAA with a 75-72 overtime victory at Albion College on Saturday. Kalamazoo is 3-1 in the MIAA while Calvin, Albion, and Hope are each 2-1.
Dirk Rhinehart led the Hornets with 20 points and seven rebounds. Scott Montmorency scored 18 points. Chris Elliot and Jevon Caldwell-Gross each finished with 12 points.
Kalamazoo shot 38.6 percent from the field while Albion shot 40.7 percent. Albion held a 33-32 rebounding advantage. Each team had nine turnovers.
Kalamazoo (11-6/3-1) returns to action at the Anderson Athletic Center on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. against Adrian College.
