Men's Basketball falls at Adrian

ADRIAN - The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell to the hands of another hot-shooting team tonight at Adrian, 85-80. The Bulldogs shot 54.3 percent from the field despite hitting just 5-of-17 three-point attempts. Kalamazoo shot 44.8 percent.

Adrian won the game at the free throw line as the Hornets were called for twice as many fouls (30-15) as Adrian. Adrian was 30-40 from the line while Kalamazoo was just 11-17.

Kalamazoo held a 35-29 rebounding advantage.

Doug Lepisto and Dirk Rhinehart each scored 19 points to lead the Hornets. Lepisto added seven assists and Rhinehart had five rebounds. Lepisto was 7-of-7 at the line. Scott Montmorency had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Chris Howard led five Adrian players in double figures with 23 points. Tom Cieker had 15 points. Dan Walter had 14 points and six rebounds. Mike Lagger had 11 points and five rebounds. Steve Brooks finished with 10 points.

Kalamazoo falls to 5-12 (0-5 MIAA) on the season. Adrian improves to 9-6 (2-3 MIAA). The Hornets return to action on Saturday when they host Olivet College at 3 p.m.
