
Men's Basketball falls at AlmaKalamazoo was unable to keep pace with the hot-shooting Scots who hit 55.6 percent from the field and 50.0 percent (6-12) from three-point range. Kalamazoo shot 38.9 percent from the field and 29.4 percent (5-17) from behind the arch. Kalamazoo did manage to convert 23-of-26 free throw attempts (88.5%) while Alma made just 15-of-25 (60.0%). Alma held a 32-26 rebounding advantage while committing one less turnover (23-24) than the Hornets. Doug Lepisto had a career-high and game-leading 21 points. The freshman guard also had five assists. Dirk Rhinehart added 15 points and Nate Troyer had 12 points. Scott Montmorency had a team-best five rebounds. Sean Dick led Alma wit 20 points. Ryan Knudsen scored 19 points. Andrew VanSchoick and Matt Johnson each scored 12 points with eight and five rebounds, respectively. Jeff Hosler had a team-high seven assists. Kalamazoo falls to 0-3 in the MIAA (5-10 overall). Alma improves to 1-1 in the league (6-7 overall). Kalamazoo returns home on Saturday to face Albion College at 3 p.m. |
