Dillingham Named to Preseason All-Region Team; Haverdink is a Sophomore to Watch

Two Hornet football players are featured by the Football Gazette in their 1999 Preseason All-America Team release.

Senior Jeff Dillingham (Birmingham/Groves) was selected to the Preseason North Region team as a returner. Dillingham returned 23 kicks for 616 yards for an average of 26.8 yards per return last season, ranking him 22nd in the nation in NCAA Division III. As a defensive back, Dillingham had three interceptions and one returned for a touchdown. He made 33 tackles and was selected to the All-MIAA Second Defensive Team.

Brant Haverdink (Hamilton/Hamilton) was selected as one of 17 sophomores to watch. The 6'2", 200 lb. Haverdink had 29 carries for 141 yards (4.9 yds/carry) and one touchdown as a freshman in 1998.
