BLUFFTON - Four turnovers proved to costly to overcome as
the Kalamazoo College football team lost 23-15 at Bluffton
on Saturday, Sept. 27. Two first half interceptions and a
pair of second half interceptions limited the Hornets' offense
attack as Bluffton held a 40-minute to 20-minute advantage
in time of possession despite running just four more plays
than Kalamazoo. Bluffton totalled 376 yards on offense while
the Hornets had 299 yards.
Ryan Bizzis and Adam Powers each scored for Kalamazoo.
Powers had 34 yards rushing on 11 carries along with 50 receiving
yards on eight catches. Jimmy Semelsberger had 60 yards on
four catches.
Brandon Luczak was 18-of-41 passing for 167 yards with one
touchdown and four interceptions. Luczak rushed for 41 yards
on 11 carries. Nick Jones was 3-of-8 for 17 yards passing
along with 28 yards rushing.
Brandon Foutz led the defense with 14 tackles. Michael Herman
and Steve Charon each had nine.
Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday in the MIAA opener
at Adrian.
