October 13, 2007 - Kalamazoo College vs. Hope College (Homecoming)

KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College football team had its homecoming game spoiled by Hope 57-7 on Saturday.

Hope led 7-0 after the first quarter and scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a 28-0 lead into halftime.

After falling behind 34-0 early in the third quarter, Kalamazoo scored its only touchdown with 8:42 left in the third quarter when Kalamazoo blocked a Hope punt and Mike Benson recovered the ball and dove into the end zone.

Hope had 569 yards of total offense while holding the Hornets to 132 yards.

Jordan Tallman was 14-of-38 passing for 110 yards with two interceptions. Jimmy Semelsberger had six catches for 70 yards. Randy Rzeznik had four catches for 23 yards. Mike Benson and Robbie Carollo each had three catches.

Michael Herman led the Kalamazoo defense with 17 total tackles. Ross Dalrymple had 13 tackles. Alex Leonowicz was in on 12 tackles and Blake MacDonald finished with 11 tackles. Sean Schemmel had five tackles including two sacks. Brian Flahie and Adam Manix each had a sack.

Kalamazoo returns to action next Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran.
