HOLLAND - Kalamazoo suffered a 45-7 loss at Hope on Saturday.
Hope scored its first touchdown at the end of the first quarter,
then put three touchdowns on the board in the second quarter
to take a 28-0 lead into halftime.
Kalamazoo got on the board with 4:11 left in the third quarter
when Jordan Tallman connected with Jimmy Semelsberger on a
63-yard touchdown pass.
Hope accumulated 446 yards of total offense while holding
Kalamazoo to 156 yards. Hope was 7-of-14 while Kalamazoo was
2-of-13.
Jordan Talman was 17-of-34 passing for 158 yards with a touchdown
and an interception.
Jimmy Semelsberger had four catches for 87 yards and the
touchdown. Randy Rzeznik (26 yards) and Mike Leifeld (24 yards)
each had four receptions as well.
Stephen Johnston rushed for 32 yards on 10 carries.
Rob Duszynski led the defense with 13 total tackles. Chris
Werme and Ross Dalrymple each had 10 tackles. Ryan Case, Blake
MacDonald and Brandon Baity each had a sack.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Wisconsin Lutheran next Saturday
at 1 p.m.
