vs. Adrian College
KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College football team lost its
season finale to Adrian, 20-2, in front of a large home crowd
on senior day at Angell Field. Kalamazoo trailed 14-2 at halftime.
Adrian opened the scoring with a touchdown run with 2:34
left in the first quarter. Kalamazoo scored a safety when
Adrian was backed up to its own one-yardline and had to punt.
Adrian's snap went over the punter's head and out of the endzone.
Adrian scored again with 1:51 left in the second quarter
on a nine-yard touchdown pass to take a 14-2 lead into halftime.
Adrian tacked on field goals of 19 and 30 yards in the second
half.
Adrian outgained Kalamazoo 309-175 yards. The Bulldogs were
5 of 14 on third downs while Kalamazoo converted just 1 of
11.
Adrian had 170 rushing yards, led by Chris Clay's 155 yards
on 29 carries. Matt Patterson was 14 of 24 passing for 139
yards for the Bulldogs.
Kalamazoo's Tim Kaselitz was 14-of-30 passing for 122 yards
with three interceptions. James Woodfork had four catches
for 35 yards. Matthew Jarboe had 10 carries for 25 yards.
The Hornets had five turnovers, but did manage to recover
three Adrian fumbles.
Jeremy Vanisacker led Kalamazoo with 5 total tackles (13
solo). Pat Davis, Mike Riley, and Nate Sarnacki each had a
quarterback sack. Joe Meier, Chris Werme, and Riley each recovered
an Adrian fumble.
Kalamazoo wraps up the 2004 season at Tri-State University
next Saturday, Nov. 13.
