vs. Albion College
KALAMAZOO - Kalamazoo College's homecoming was spoiled by
a 33-6 loss to Albion College on a cold and rainy afternoon
at Angell Field.
Albion scored a field goal on its opening 11-play, 65-yard
drive to take the early lead. The Britons took a 17-0 lead
into halftime.
Albion scored two third quarter touchdowns to lead 31-0 before
the Hornets scored on a three-yard pass from Tim Kaselitz
to Blake Hurt. The extra point attempt hit the upright.
Albion put the final touch on the 33-6 win with a safety
with 5:50 left in the game.
Kalamazoo had seven first downs in the game while Albion
had 19. The Britons had 360 yards of total offense to Kalamazoo's
173. Albion held a 12 minute advantage (35:00-23:00) in time
of possession.
Albion dominated a muddy ground game behind Dustin Louwaert's
131 yards on 32 carries and one touchdown. The Britons finished
with 186 rushing yards. Quarterback Steve Wasil had 35 yards
rushing and was 11-of-21 passing for 127 yards with two touchdowns
and an interception. Peter Shaw had two catches for 69 yards.
Tim Kaselitz was 13-of-21 passing for Kalamazoo with 127
yards and one touchdown and an interception. Blake Hurt had
six catches for 46 yards. James Woodfork and Mike Strong each
had four catches.
Matthew Jarboe rushed for 25 yards on 10 carries. Mike Strong
had 14 yards on seven carries.
Jeremy Vanisacker led the Hornet defense with 16 total tackles.
Pat Davis had the Hornets' only sack. Nick Toboy had an interception.
Padraic Timmons led Albion with seven tackles. Tim Rowen
and Tim Gough each had an interception.
Kalamazoo travels to Alma College next Saturday, Oct. 23.
