November 15, 2003 - Kalamazoo College at Adrian College
ADRIAN - The Kalamazoo College football team won its season finale 27-21 at Adrian on Saturday, spoiling Adrian's chances of sharing the conference title. The Hornets finish the 2003 season with a record of 6-4 (2-4 MIAA).
Kalamazoo recovered from a 14-7 halftime deficit to outscore the host Bulldogs 20-7 in the second half. Dwight White scored on a 55-yard run with 2:47 left in the game to give the Hornets the 27-21 advantage.
Jeff Green scored the Hornets' first touchdown on a nine-yard reception from Bryan Gnyp. James Woodfork scored the second touchdown on a seven-yard reception from Gnyp. Gnyp scored on a 13-yard run early in the fourth and then converted the two-point attempt to even the score at 21-21.
Bryan Gnyp was 16-of-22 passing for 152 yards with two touchdowns. Gnyp is the new Kalamazoo College career leader in passing yards and completions, as he needed just 32 passing yards to set the career passing yards record and 15 completions to set the career completions record.
Jeff Green led the Hornets' receivers with 47 yards on four catches. Blake Hurt had three catches for 17 yards. Tim Kleinebreil, Andy Graham, James Woodfork, and Dwight White each had two catches.
Dwight White led the Hornets with 89 yards on 14 carries. Bryan Gnyp had 79 yards rushing on nine carries. Matthew Jarboe had 39 yards on 12 carries.
Brent Klein led the Kalamazoo defense with 20 total tackles. Jeremy Vanisacker had 10 tackles. Will Solomon had a sack and Conor Lefere had an interception.
Chris Clay led Adrian with 143 rushing yards on 25 carries.
Adam Tubaro was 20of-35 passing for 211 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
Andy Keimer had seven catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs. Derek Anderson added four catches for 33 yards and Joel Musielewic had three catches for 27 yards.
Mark Westenberg led Adrian's defense with nine total tackles.
