October 4, 2003 - Kalamazoo College at Tri-State University
ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College football team improved to 4-0 with a 20-13 win at Tri-State University. This was the first-ever meeting between the two schools, and the Hornets final non-conference game of the season.
Kalamazoo outgained Tri-State 373 yards to 295. The Thunder had three turnovers while Kalamazoo had two.
Kalamazoo got on the board first with 39 seconds left in the second quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by Dwight White.
The rest of the scoring took place in the third quarter. Tri-State returned a blocked punt 30-yards with 9:09 left in the third, but missed the extra point to trail 7-6.
The Thunder scored again with 6:59 left on a six-yard touchdown pass from Olivet to Sandee to take a 13-7 lead. Kalamazoo responded a minute later (5:55) when Bryan Gnyp connected with Andy Graham on a 63-yard touchdown pass. Kalamazoo's extra point attempt was blocked and the game was tied 13-13.
Kalamazoo scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:37 left in the third on a one-yard plunge by Gnyp.
Matthew Jarboe rushed for 83 yards on 19 carries. Dwight White had 50 yards on 15 carries.
Bryan Gnyp was 11-of-29 passing for 240 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked four times.
Andy Graham had 149 yards receiving on seven catches. James Woodfork had two catches for 80 yards.
Bennett led Tri-State with 69 yards on 11 carries. Olivet was 16-of-29 passing for 196 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Darnell had five catches for 53 yards and Testa had four catches for 71 yards.
