October 25, 2003 - Kalamazoo College at Albion College
ALBION - Kalamazoo College suffered a 23-9 defeat at Albion's Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium this afternoon. Kalamazoo trailed 13-6 at halftime.
Albion's Andy Cline kicked three field goals. Albion scored two touchdowns, one on a 90-yard interception return by Raymond Burton and the other on a three-yard run by quarterback Steve Wasil with 2:17 left in the game.
Blake Hurt scored the Hornets' only touchdown after recovering a blocked punt (Nick Toboy) in the end zone. Gavin Mooney kicked a 26-yard field goal. The Hornets were 1-for-6 in the red zone and had a field goal blocked, missed a field goal, and missed an extra point attempt.
Adam Richardson moved from defensive back to running back for this game and had 79 yards on 19 carries. Bryan Gnyp rushed for 66 yards on 12 carries. Dwight White had six carries for 14 yards, and Matthew Jarboe had one carry for two yards.
Bryan Gnyp was 15-of-30 passing for 177 yards ane three interceptions. He was sacked twice.
Andy Graham had nine catches for 71 yards. James Woodfork (46 yards) and Jeff Green (44 yards) each had two receptions.
Ryan Williams led Albion's ground game with 62 rushing yards on 17 carries. Dustin Louwaert had 58 yards on 19 carries. Quarterback Steve Wasil had 58 yards on eight carries.
Steve Wasil was 11-of-19 for 110 yards. He was sacked once.
Shaun Moon (37 yards) and Ryan Williams (7 yards) each had three catches for the Britons. Troy Rundle had two catches for 17 yards. Chad Brent had one catch for 40 yards.
Jeremy Vanisacker led the Hornets with 11 total tackles, including 1.5 for lost yardage. Joe Meier and Brian Baucher each had 10 tackles. Pat Davis had the Hornets' only sack.
Glen Brittich led Albion with 14 tackles. Zak Voss, Michael Sheldon, and Raymond Burton each had an interception.
Kalamazoo returns home next Saturday to face Alma College.
