November 9, 2002 - Kalamazoo College at Wisconsin Lutheran College (MIAA Contest)
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Kalamazoo College defeated MIAA newcomer Wisconsin Lutheran
42-7 this afternoon. Kalamazoo scored touchdowns on each of its first four
possessions and took a 28-0 lead into halftime. The Hornets amassed 490 yards
of total offense while holding the Warriors to just 167 total yards, including
a net of -10 rushing yards. The Hornet defense had seven sacks and three
interceptions.
Kalamazoo set a school record for most points in a season with 304, breaking
the previous mark of 291 set in 1916. With one touchdown pass today Bryan
Gnyp tied the Gregg McDonald's school record for most touchdown passes in
a career.
Gnyp was 18-of-25 on the afternoon with 343 yards passing and one touchdown.
Gnyp also had 40 yards rushing on 10 carries and two scores.
Dwight White had 49 yards rushing on 18 carries with two touchdowns. Matthew
Jarboe had 27 yards rushing on eight carries.
T.J. Thayer led the receivers with six catches for 115 yards. Zach Ellis
had five catches for 85 yards. Ben Farkas had two catches for 37 yards. Zach
Burton had the Hornets only touchdown reception.
Brent Klein led the Hornet defense with eight tackles. Tim Clore had two
and a half sacks. Will Solomon had two sacks. Brett Foster had one sack.
Pat Davis, John Krajacic, and Mike Riley were each credited with half of
a sack. Mark LaCombe, Ben Wolf, and Kyle Bainbridge each had an interception.
Kalamazoo (4-5, 1-4 MIAA) will host Adrian College next Saturday at 1
p.m.
