Brant Haverdink Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

Kalamazoo junior linebacker Brant Haverdink of Hamilton (Hamilton HS) was credited with 12 tackles, eight of them unassisted, in the Hornets' 23-17 victory over Alma. He had two tackles for lost yardage, a quarterback sack and one pass breakup in being the defensive player of the week for the second time this season.

On the season, Haverdink leads the Hornets with 93 total tackles. He has three interceptions, five and a half sacks, and fifteen tackles for lost yardage.

Kalamazoo (4-3 / 2-1 MIAA) hosts Albion College (6-2 / 2-1 MIAA) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
