May 10, 2001 - Kalamazoo College at Albion College (MIAA Doubleheader)

ALBION - Kalamazoo College swept a doubleheader with Albion College today to move into a tie for fourth place in the MIAA.

Zach Burton pitched a complete game in the opener, allowing only four hits while striking out six and walking only one. Burton received some help from the Hornet offense as Kalamazoo had 10 hits. Todd Wilson was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Pat Ellis and T.J. Thayer were each 2-for-3.

Ben Tucker threw a complete-game shutout in the second game. Tucker scattered five hits while striking out three and walking three. The Hornets were able to put five runs on the board with five hits and the help of three Albion errors. Todd Wilson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Kalamazoo is now tied with Albion for fourth place in the MIAA with a record of 7-10. The two teams wrap up the season tomorrow at Albion at 4 p.m.
