ORCHARD LAKE - Kalamazoo lost a non-conference game 8-5 at Orchard Lake St. Mary's on Tuesday. Kalamazoo had bases loaded with two outs in the ninth inning, but a controversial call at second base ended the Hornets chance at a comeback.
Jim Hurd and Garry Penta each hit their
second homerun of the year. Penta was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Hurd was 2-for-3.
Dan Flewelling pitched six innings and suffered the loss. Terry Brock and
Rick Sharp pitched in relief.
