
Baseball splits doubleheader with Alma
Freshman pitcher Ben Tucker went the distance and earned his second win of the season (2-2), striking out five and walking four. Jeff Dillingham was 4-for-5 with a double, home run, and three RBI's. Ross Gladding and T.J. Thayer each had doubles. Joe Botke hit his second home run of the season and drove in three runs. Kalamazoo fell behind 3-0 in the first but took over the lead for good with a six-run third inning. The Hornets managed only three hits in the second game while allowing 13 runs on 15 hits. Dave Adamji was 2-for-2. Kurt Wagner had the other single. Rick Sharp pitched two innings and suffered the loss (1-3). Alma scored four runs in the second and eight in the third to put the game out of reach. Kalamazoo returns to action on Wednesday when they host Orchard Lake St. Mary's at at 4:00 p.m. Game
