Baseball splits on Saturday

PANAMA CITY - The Kalamazoo College baseball team split a pair of games today, losing 13-8 to Heidelberg early and defeating Otterbein 3-0 in the afternoon.

In game one, Kalamazoo allowed seven runs in the fourth inning to trail 13-3. The Hornets battled back with four runs in the fifth and one in the seventh but failed to complete the comeback. Steve Lucas had three hits (single, doule, triple) and two RBI's. Jeff Dillingham had two hits with one RBI. Ben Tucker suffered the loss. Nine of Heidelberg's 13 runs were earned.

Game two featured a masterful pitching performance by Rick Sharp. The sophomore threw a complete-game three-hitter en route to his first collegiate shutout. The Hornets three runs all came in the first inning. Steve Lucas had a two-RBI double.
