What's in an LLH application?

The written portion of the Living Learning House Application has four main components: a mission statement, educational design, annotated bibliography, and a roster of residents wishing to live in the house. Though not required, past applicants have included letters of support or recommendation for the proposed house as well. Below is a sample of an excellent application comprised from portions of past applications.

1. Cover Page Sample
2. Mission Statement Sample
3. Educational Design/Programming Sample
4. Annotated Bibliography Sample
5. Roster of Proposed Residents Sample
6. Letters of Support (optional) Sample

The presentation portion of the Living Learning House Application is scheduled for 7th week of spring quarter. This required 10-minute presentation is an opportunity for the applicant group to highlight aspects of the application it believes are particularly worthy of consideration and for the Selection Committee to ask questions. Visual aids (i.e. PowerPoint presentations) are highly encouraged for this portion.

The application process for the 2009-2010 academic year is closed. Please check back during 6th week of Winter quarter for the 2010-2011 Living Learning House application.
