Religion - Tenure-track Position

Kalamazoo College invites applicants for a tenure track position in the Department of Religion as an Assistant Professor to begin in September 2010 in the field of Hebrew Bible and Christian (New) Testament with the ability to teach primarily in early Christianity but also in Second Temple/Rabbinic Judaism.  In addition to expertise in the textual traditions, candidates should be able to teach courses reflecting knowledge of the cultural contexts, interpretations and impact of those texts in Christian and Jewish communities.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated a high aptitude for and interest in undergraduate teaching, a commitment to the liberal arts, and a promise of scholarly excellence. S/he will be expected to collaborate with the College's Jewish Studies program and should articulate other strengths and areas of expertise. Ph.D. is required by September 2010; M.Div. desirable.
