Political Science: American Politics - One Year Replacement Position

Kalamazoo College invites applications for a one-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor to begin in September 2008. We plan to conduct a national search for a tenure track position that fall. Preference for the visiting position will be given to candidates with Ph.D. at time of appointment. Salary is competitive and consistent with level of experience. The department encourages applications from scholars engaged in any field of American politics. Teaching responsibilities will consist of six courses including Introduction to American Government, taught twice. Candidates should be able to teach four additional courses in American Politics. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can offer courses in race and politics, environmental politics, and/or civil liberties. Candidates are expected to have high aptitude and interest in undergraduate teaching and a commitment to the liberal arts.
