Kalamazoo College values a campus community in which all members-students, faculty, staff, and administrators alike-know that their contributions matter. We place a diverse and civil campus community at the center of our educational mission. The College will strive to create an environment in our programs and on our physical campus in which we all share a clear understanding of the institution's mission, identity, and vision. |

Strategies for the next five years:
- Articulate the importance of the K-Plan, create feedback loops to measure the effect of the K-Plan on our mission, and support activities that encourage faculty and staff to develop a better understanding of the position of Kalamazoo College among national liberal arts colleges.
- Recruit and retain students, faculty, and staff with special attention to under-represented racial, ethnic, and religious groups.
- Ensure that the faculty governance structure reflects the perspective that all positions (faculty, staff, and administrators) contribute to the educational enterprise.
- Analyze campus climate issues and communications and address needs through workshops, common readings, dialogue groups, and symposia for faculty, staff, and students.
- Create and maintain congenial centers for student activities, social life, health, fitness, recreation, and athletics.
- Continue major renovation and maintenance projects for campus buildings, grounds, and related infrastructure.
