Race and Ethnic Relations

This course is primarily a social history of various racial and ethnic groups such as African-Americans, American Indians, Asians, Latinos, and White ethnics with the focus on their past, present, and future social situations within various social institutions in the United States. The emphasis will be on the social construction of race and ethnicity along with the evidence of inequality evidenced by these groups position within the social stratification system, institutionalized discrimination, etc.
