Right now I am preparing for graduation which is just a little more than
a month away. I can't believe how fast it is approaching. This year has
been such a rollercoaster, with my SIP, my internship at Kelloggs, the
comprehensive exam for my major, difficult classes and, of course, the
job search. Speaking of the job search, I accepted a job as an economic
research assistant with the Federal Reserve. I will be working within their
International Finance division in the international development sector.
My job will basically consist of monitoring the economies of certain developing
regions that I am assigned to in order to assess if any of their issues
may affect our economy. I am certainly looking forward to this job, as
I think that I want to pursue a career in International business. Additionally,
I am excited about making the transition to Washington, D.C. It is sad
to be leaving K after I finally feel like I have made a home here, but
K has taught me how to be resilient and adaptive to new environments.
Well, that's all I
am up to. If you want to get in touch with me my e-mail is k97jn02@kzoo.edu.
Thanks for visiting my site!!

I have just returned from six months study abroad in Caceres, Spain.
It was a great experience to live in another country and culture and I
also was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel around Europe for
six weeks. To read more about study abroad check out the page in
Intercultural Understanding. Now that I am back I am just trying
to adjust back to life in the United States and get ready for Spring quarter.
Also, I am trying to get my SIP together for the summer and I am hoping
to do something in marketing. Spring quarter should keep me busy
because I am taking Intermediate Microeconomics, Introduction to Marketing
and Philosophy of Science. On top of that I am a teaching assistant
for an accounting class, working on the Senior Graduation Committee and
working an outside job. I also just moved into my new apartment,
which is the first time I have had my own place, which is very exciting.

The summer of my sophomore year is coming to a close, which marks the halfway
point of my college experience. I am relieved by this and also kind
of sad. I have just finished up my internship at Edward Jones Investments,
which was a really great experience for me. In about one week
I am leaving for Spain for six months to study abroad. I can’t believe
it has come so quickly. Of course I am very excited about embarking
on this once in a lifetime opportunity but I am also very nervous about
leaving America for such a long time.
