Intercultural Understanding
is the ability and willingness to see things from a different cultural
perspective. It is respecting different ideas and lifestyles and recognizing
that your culture is not superior to others. I think it is important to
explore other countries and cultures in order to expand your horizons and
become more aware of the world outside of the United States.
I feel fortunate that I go
to a school that puts a strong emphasis on intercultural understanding.
I have had many opportunities to learn about different cultures and improve
my ability to effectively communicate across cultural boundaries.
