Director of Security  Tim Young
Asst. Director of Security
  Gail Simpson
Security Officers  Nicole Carpenter, Peter Griffioen, Chris Kliemann, Jeffrey Klok, Ray Shoup, Kim Wilkens, Michelle McWilliams

We abide by housing, health, and fire codes to ensure that residence halls and buildings are safe. Residence halls are locked 24 hours a day to deter strangers from entering the buildings. Campus Security officers patrol the campus 24 hours a day and are available to respond to emergencies and/or suspicious activities. Administrators are on call to address emergencies. Student Development staff offer programs to help students develop their own safety and security patterns.

Security officers and residence hall staff will respond in an emergency. Medical emergencies will be treated at Bronson Hospital Emergency room and transportation will be provided by Security or an ambulance will be called if deemed necessary.

We encourage you to review with your son or daughter, personal safety considerations such as the following:

  • not walking alone at night
  • locking their room
  • using security's escort service after dark
You can help us make this an important concern for your son or daughter.

When criminal violations are reported to Security, local public safety officers will be summoned or notified. In those instances, a member of the student development staff will be available as a resource to the student, but you must provide for legal services. You may request from the Director of Security, a copy of the crime statistics and security procedures required by the Student-Right-To-Know and Campus Security Act
