Library
Kalamazoo College's renovated and expanded Upjohn Library Commons
building opened in January 2006. The new building provides a state-of-the-art
facility for students, staff and faculty. It includes library
resources, Media Services, the Computer Help Desk, a video production
studio, a video editing suite, audio studio, and the Center for
New Media Design for multimedia projects. The Upjohn Library Commons
building also houses a cafe and the Writing Center.
Library resources include about 300,000 books,
over 100 databases, and over 33,000 electronic journal subscriptions.
In addition to its extensive collection of resources, the library
also offers statewide borrowing through MeLCat, reciprocal borrowing
privileges at Western Michigan University's libraries, and traditional
interlibrary loan services.
