| Computing and Printing
Many parents ask if students need their own computers. Personal
computers are used for many tasks, including writing papers, electronic
mail, and surfing the web. There are six computer labs on campus,
one of which is open 24 hours per day, with PCs and Macintosh computers. Standard office software and specific software for classes are available in the
labs and on library computing stations.
Should your son or daughter decide to bring a computer to campus, please
check our buying guide, particularly the minimum standards for connecting to the network. The six residence halls have been wired for Internet access at no extra charge.
Computers connected to the network are subject to college policies. Wireless access is available in Residence Hall lounges and public buildings.
All students receive an electronic mail and network account and print credits. Students may purchase additional print credits at 10¢ per sheet.
The College Bookstore has educational discounts on a wide variety
of software.
