Naturally,
the amount of spending money students will need per quarter varies
by individual. You and your student should establish needs and
expectations ahead of time. In addition to personal needs, plan
for the cost of books and supplies. The cost of books varies,
depending on course selection. On average, expect to spend between
$275-$300 per term for books and supplies.
We strongly advise students not to carry around or keep in their
rooms, large sums of cash. We recommend that students open a checking
account, and obtain a ATM/Debit card to facilitate monetary transactions
in the Kalamazoo community.
