Kalamazoo College is pleased to offer wireless network and internet access in select areas across campus.

These instructions will help you set up and connect to the Kalamazoo College wireless network.

Please be sure to follow all manufacturer instructions to correctly install the wireless adapter in your system. Because of the wide range of wireless adapter equipment available, Kalamazoo College Information Services is able to offer only limited help and troubleshooting advice.

Once your wireless adapter is correctly installed, simply choose the appropriate network:

  •  The ResNet network is reserved for students
  •  Faculty should generally choose the Academic network
  •  Staff should generally choose the Admin network
  
Please note that in the Kalamazoo College wireless network, the SSID (or Service Set Identity) is the same as the network name; for example, the ResNet SSID is the same as the ResNet network.

Also please note that the process for choosing the correct network (SSID) will depend on the type of wireless network card you are using. For most Windows-based wireless access cards, it is possible to use the Wireless Network Connections Properties window. For Macintosh computers, use the AirPort Setup Assistant.
Once you have chosen the correct network (SSID), open a web browser. You will automatically be redirected to a secure login authentication page (you must accept the security certificate, if prompted).
In the ‘User Name’ field, type in your network user name (i.e. – k99xx02 – note that you do not need the ‘@kzoo.edu’).

In the password field, enter your network password.                                  

Once you have entered your information, click on the ‘Submit’ button. This will open a second browser window.

Leave this window open while you are connected to the wireless network.

Once you see this window, you have successfully connected to Kalamazoo College’s wireless network, and may begin accessing network resources and the internet.

When you have finished using the wireless network, click on the ‘Logout’ button in the smaller browser window to ensure that you completely log out.

If you accidentally close this window, enter the address https://1.1.1.1/logout.html in your main browser location field.

If you have any questions, or are having problems connecting to the wireless network, please first refer to the documentation that came with your wireless access card to ensure that you have installed it correctly. If you continue to have problems, please send an email to helpdesk@kzoo.edu.
