How do I create a web page for my class?
Class web pages can either be created on the regular college web site or within the framework of Moodle Course Management System. it is recommended that instructors put the pages on their departmental site instead of in their personal web space. See the Kalamazoo College Web Handbook for additional information.
How do I send email to my class?
Email distribution lists (aliases) are created for your use in communicating with your classes. Lists are automatically updated daily. The list for the current quarter is created the weekend before the quarter begins. Lists for previous quarters are deleted. The list name is based on the official class number.
For example, to send an email to section 2 of Chemistry 105, address the email to chem105-2@kzoo.edu. The section number is required, even if there is only one section of the class. If you don't know your class number, see the current schedule of classes on the web at http://www.kzoo.edu/regist/schedule/.
How do I send email to department majors (or minors)?
We maintain email distribution lists (aliases) for majors and minors by department. The list name is the major (or minor) code followed by either "maj" or "min" depending on whether you want to email the majors or minors. For example, to email all history majors, you would address the message to hismaj@kzoo.edu. A list of the major codes appears below.
