First Year Seminars

• Reference Librarians provide an overview of library research methods to each First Year Seminar class.

Research Instruction for Upper Level Courses

• Reference Librarians are happy to provide research instruction sessions for upper level courses upon request. Librarians work with faculty to design the session, and they create course-specific research guides on the web.

Designing Effective Research Assignments

• Well-designed course-related research assignments can effectively introduce students to the library research process. These guidelines are designed to help instructors provide students with a positive research experience and reinforce library use as a means of learning.

Subject Guides on the Web

• Reference Librarians have also created subject guides on the web for each academic department. These guides explain how to find books, journal articles, and other sources in specific subject areas.

Research Rescue

• Students can sign up for individual help through our Research Rescue Program if they are having trouble finding information and sources on research topics.
  They may sign up for a one-on-one appointment with a Reference Librarian using our online Research Rescue Sign-up form at https://campus.kzoo.edu/is/library/rescue/
