Overdues and Fines for ILL Items

During the renovation and expansion of the Upjohn Library Commons building, interlibrary loan overdues and fines were waived. Beginning January 2, hese fines and overdues are once again in effect.

Overdue fines of $1.00 per day are applied to all interlibrary loan items.

Patrons are responsible for all costs associated with lost or damaged materials. Charges for lost or damaged items are assessed by the lending library. Patrons are responsible for payment of these charges. If materials are lost in transit or after they have been returned to the Kalamazoo College library, the ILL Department will reimburse the lending library.

Materials not returned within 30 days are subject to a $10.00 charge for accumulated fines and the cost of billing. When an item is more that 45 days overdue, the library will declare it as lost and bill as follows:

• Replacement cost: $45.00 or higher, depending on the replacement cost of the item
• Fines and Billing fees: $15.00

The library attempts to notify borrowers of overdue materials. Failure to receive notification does not absolve borrowers of accrued obligations.

For all interlibrary loan policies, see:
