New Books and Videos List Now Available

In response to increasing demand, the Library is now publishing a list of new books and video acquisitions.

You can see lists of new books, new videos, and new Reference titles here:
These lists are also linked from the Library Home Page.

The New Books and Videos list is connected to the Library's online catalog, Ariadne. Clicking on a title will give you more information and allow you to request the item (if applicable).

If you have questions, please contact Ann Haight at 269-337-7144 or haight@kzoo.edu.

New Interlibrary Loan Service: ILLiad

The Library is pleased to offer Interlibrary Loan services through a new program called ILLiad. ILLiad will be available for placing requests on Thursday, September 1. ILLiad will replace all past methods of placing interlibrary loan requests. Paper request forms and the old online request forms are being discontinued.

ILLiad offers new features that we hope will make your use of Interlibrary Loan more streamlined, efficient and user friendly. In order to use the system, you will need to log in with your Kalamazoo College network username and password. First time users will fill out a short registration form. Once the account is established, you will be able to request books and articles without entering your personal information each time. In addition, you can check on the status of your requests, ask for renewals, or cancel requests. You will also enjoy instant email notification to let you know when your material has arrived.

Though you will still come to the Library circulation desk to pick up books, all articles will be delivered electronically through your ILLiad account.

If you have questions, call the Reference Department at 269-337-7152 or email reference@kzoo.edu.

Scopus Database Trial

The Library is pleased to announce a trial to Scopus. This database, a product of Elsevier publishers, offers access to 14,000 peer-reviewed titles from more than 4,000 international publishers in the areas of Health, Life Sciences, Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Social Science, Psychology, Economics, and Business and Management.

Scopus not only gives the abstract of an article, but it links to references within articles as well. You can access Scopus in two ways:
The Scopus trial is available until December 31, 2006.
