WMU Circulation Policy During Library Construction

To all Faculty and Staff,

Due to our Library renovation project, Western Michigan University is
generously allowing Kalamazoo College faculty to check out as many as
50 books at a time, the same as their own faculty. Books can be renewed
twice online and are subject to recall. You can review your account
with WMU online. The first notice of any overdue books will be that of
replacement and processing charges, forty-five days after the last due
date.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Griswold, Circulation
Supervisor (griswold@kzoo.edu) (5731).

Thank you,
Lisa Palchick
Dean of Libraries and Information Services

Library Move Update

Members of the college community:

You may have noticed some moving activities already beginning
in the library. Because of scheduling and deadline constraints,
it was necessary to pack and store some parts of the library
collection earlier than others. Parts of the Reference section,
materials in on-campus storage in Dewing, pre-1990 bound
periodicals, and some Archives materials are being moved to
off-campus storage locations this month and throughout Winter
Quarter.

Core items in the Reference section will be available during
construction. These materials will remain in the current
Reference section until they are moved to our temporary location
in Hicks. Other Reference materials will be stored in an
off-campus facility and will be inaccessible during construction.
Materials currently in Dewing storage, pre-1990 bound periodicals,
and some Archives materials will also be moved off campus and
will be inaccessible during construction.

We understand that this may be inconvenient. However, we encourage
you to use Western's library, the InMICH service, and Interlibrary
Loan to access items you need during this time.

Thank you,
Lisa Palchick
