travel outside of the USA.
Kalamazoo College students are invited to participate in the International Travel Clinic.

The Student Health Center does NOT bill insurance. We will provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company.
The Student Health Center accepts cash, check, or charges posted to the student account. We do not process credit/debit cards.
International Travel Clinic for Kalamazoo College Students
The benefits of participating in a Travel Clinic are:
- Personalized analysis of your travel itinerary, anticipated activities, and medical history to develop an individualized portfolio containing health hints for traveling and information on topics such as food and water safety, diarrhea, malaria prophylaxis, a summary of disease risks, and personal protection techniques.
- Review of your current immunization status in accordance with current CDC (Center for Disease Control), WHO (World Health Organization), ISTM (International Society of Travel Medicine), and International SOS recommendations for your destination country and others to which you are traveling.
- A personalized list of recommended and required immunizations.
- A discount on Student Health Center immunization fees.
- Recommendations for malaria prophylaxis and needed prescriptions.
- Prescription for medication to help prevent or treat illness while traveling.
- Priority scheduling for immunizations (additional cost) and physical exam (if needed--additional cost) to help ensure all forms and lab work are turned in in a timely manner.
- Detailed pre-travel consult lasting about one hour.
- Individual health advice, as needed.
- Completion of an International Certificate of Vaccination (“Yellow Card”) approved by the World Health Organization and the only internationally recognized immunization record.
- Free TB test 10-12 weeks after return.
The Student Health Center staff works closely with the Center for International Programs and with the directors of overseas programs to adapt to international requirements and changing health issues to create your individualized plan. The Student Health Center is a State of Michigan Department of Health designated center for yellow fever vaccine.
